The Shore

No words are needed to describe our pretty much perfect day at the beach during our trip to MA in August...it was sunny, hot, fun, beautiful...everything a summer day should be!

Nana shared the day with us too...
A perfect beach day complete with sandcastles (sort of!)...
starfish....
and smiles...

Family

Our favorite part of a family vacation?? FAMILY!!!
We love traveling north to visit all our family. We were blessed to have not just one, but TWO opportunities to vacation with our families in MA. The kids, Jake and myself just got to spend 9 whole days with our family and it was wonderful!
Abby loves her Auntie Christine... Nate got to spend some "boy's only time" with his Daddy, Uncle Tim and Uncle Rob...
As usual, the cousins had a blast together!

Emma, Abby & Nate enjoyed spending time getting to know Memere, Pepere & my mom...

We always fnd time to visit with this little guy, Connor. He is growing up so fast!!!
And Jake and I were so happy to have the opportunity to get to know my younger sister's boyfriend, Ross (far right). Ross lives in England and was vacationing in the US the same week we were home. With Ross living out of the country and Jake and I out of state, I have a feeling pictures like this will be few and far between!
Nate and his Nana...so sweet :)
As always, the bad part of visiting family is having to leave :( It was an awesome week and we made lots of memories. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long to do it again!

What Happens When....

You let the kids be in charge for the night? You let them choose dinner, dessert, and an activity all on their own?
You get a delicious meal chosen by Emma! Grilled steak, corn on the cob and mashed potatoes...yummy! And the best part, almost no leftovers! Don't get me wrong, we love leftovers, but when there isn't anything leftover it means the kids ATE ALL THEIR FOOD!!!
A cheeseburger cake for dessert chosen by the very creative Abigail! I could not believe my eyes when I came home and saw this cake! Isn't it cool? It was pretty tasty too!
And a great movie chosen by Mr. Nate! We all enjoyed watching "The Tale of Despereaux." Nate couldn't wait to watch this movie about a little mouse with BIG ears!

Mini Golf Madness!

Our entire July vacation was not spent MA going here, there & everywhere! When we got back, we had a few days to spend together at home having fun around town. We love living in an area that has so much to offer. There are so many different places to go and we never have to travel far...it's all right here in Lancaster County. We spent one lovely (and hot...very hot!) summer day playing mini-golf at Dutch Wonderland.

And no hot summer day is complete without ice cream! Where else better to go than Friendly's?!
Nathan loves to be silly:)
