Martha's Vineyard Day 1

Tuesday morning we headed to Martha's Vineyard to meet up with Nana and spend a few days at the beach. Everyone was really looking forward to this trip. Jake and the kids have been there before but this was my first time and Emma was eager to show me all the fun things to do at the Vineyard.

The ferry ride on the Island Queen.

After Emma finished showing Nana that her and I wear the same size shoe (yes... I can fit into a 7 year old's shoe) by having me try hers on, Nate insisted that I could fit into his crocs too and that I should wear them instead of him..he's such a silly little boy :)

Off to the beach!

We found some crabs at the crab pool.

Nate enjoyed playing on the rocks.

Nap time. Nate must have been worn out...he fell asleep without a binky, can you believe it?!
The girls riding the waves.
Emma and Abby learning how to skip rocks with Daddy.
Going home for the day.

New Friends

On Monday the kids spent the day with me and had the opportunity to meet some members of my family. We all woke up early to go to Mackenzie and Jamieson's house for the the day. Mackenzie and Jamieson are my cousin's children who I have helped take care of over the past five years either part time or full time. Emma, Abby and Nate had met them before but haven't seen them in over a year. Jamieson has been anxiously awaiting this visit with the Marshall kids. Everytime I mention that I've seen them, he pouts and says, "When is it going to be my turn?" So, Monday was finally his turn. He met us at the door in his pajamas ready to play! Mackenzie and Jamieson have been are a huge part of my life and it brought joy to my heart to see them interact and play so well with Emma, Abby and Nate who are also very dear to me.

There was lots of excitement over Mackenzie and Jamieson's cat, Tallulah.

The Bopsy Twins :)
The boys.
I can't get over how tall the Marshall kids are! Jamieson is a year older than Abby and Mackenzie is three years older than Emma!!

My Auntie Nancy (Mackenzie and Jamieson's grandmother) spent the day with us too.

Getting goofy :)
Saying Goodbye :(

After Mackenzie and Jamieson's house, it was off to Leominster to meet my mom, Linda, and my Memere and Pepere.

My mom was reading Nate a book and he was "reading" his book to her :)
The kids each got a new coloring book but Nate was more interested in my 4 month old nephew's toy fish.

Poor Nate was exhausted after his busy day.

Lake Dennison

On Sunday, we enjoyed a beautiful day with family at a nearby lake. Auntie Christine, Uncle Tim, Elizabeth, Joe and Nana joined us at Lake Dennison for a day of fun in the sun! We cooked on the grill for lunch, played in the sand and had lots of fun swimming.

And we're off!

The troops headed for the water.

I just love this picture of Abby :)
Joe, Emma and Bee exploring.

These two couldn't be any happier being surrounded by sticks, dirt and tree stumps...such typical boys!Say cheese :)!

Some people riding horseback were kind enough to stop for a moment to let the kids see the horses and pet them. All the kids were thrilled about this!
Checking out the lake.

Emma was the first to test out the water.

Nate's ready to go!
Abby was a little chilly after her first dip in the lake.
I'm not sure which Nate enjoyed more...the sand or the water.

After the lake, we treated ourselves to some ice cream at Lickity Splitz.
