The five of us had a GREAT Fourth of July weekend!
Saturday night we went to one of the oldest Independence Day celebrations in the country at Lititz Spring Park. Lititz is just a short drive away from us here in Lancaster County. It is one of the cutest little towns that has kept a lot of old fashioned traditions. Over 14,000 people venture out to Lititz to take part in this each year. This event is the "thing-to-do" here. We were brave and took on the crowds and the traffic to participate and it was totally worth it!
This is how the night started...
We listened to a great concert and Abby and Nate had the best seats in the house!
The kids had fun "hanging around" while waiting for the fireworks...
We don't have any pictures of it, but part of (a HUGE part) this event is the Lititz Spring Queen of Candles Court. This is a pageant for young ladies of the local highschool graduating class. Basically, it's like Miss America for a small town. We got to watch the pageant and the "queen" get crowned. Once the queen got her crown, she lit a candle and then a candle for the eleven girls in her court (runners up). Then those candles were used to begin the lighting of over 7,000 candles throughout the park! The candles were lined all along the stream that flows through the park and it was spectacular to see. Unfourtunately, our camera stinks and the pictures came out terrible! So take our word for it, it was beautiful! But anywho, who needs the Lititz Queen of Candles when you have these two gorgeous princesses!
And then it was time to wait for the fireworks to begin...
And what a show it was! These were by far the BEST fireworks display I have ever seen! They were amazing and we had front row seats:) Once again, our camera isn't the best, so this picture doesn't give you the full effect...but you get the idea:)

You what the first thing was that I noticed about those pictures?...Abby's hair! Oh my word it's getting blonde. It must have been all that chlorine from swimming lessons!
Anyway, it's pretty impressive that you got to see fireworks three times. Looks like great memories were made!
