First Day of School

They're all ready for the big first day back to school!
Grown-up girl, Emma, has been looking forward to entering the 4th grade. She loves school and is ready to get back to see her friends, meet her new teacher & start practicing her viola again.
Abby is sooo excited to be a first grader! She is definitely not a "little kid" anymore (and don't you dare call her one, she will correct you!). She was looking forward to riding the bus in the morning and eating lunch in the cafeteria with all the other BIG kids :)
And Nate was excited for his first day of pre-school as well! This is a huge relief and blessing to us. Not so long ago Nate was NOT interested in going to school at all. Thankfully, that attitude has changed and he was pretty excited to wear his new clothes, pack his back pack and bring his new sleeping bag (for nap time) to school.
All smiles on the first morning...yay!
All their bus stop buddies...
The girls are off...
Daddy got to be Nathan's "bus" on the first day. I heard he had a wonderful start to pre-school. Him and Daddy spent some time together when he got dropped off checking out the room and meeting some new friends. After about 15 minutes, Nathan politely dismissed Jake telling him he was all set...whew! Nate likes his teacher, played with some new friends and got to be the line-leader! He had a great first day!
The girls had a wonderful first day back too. Emma likes her teacher and was eager to do her first homework assignment. Abby has some of the same friends from kindergarten in her class this year. And though she liked eating lunch in the cafeteria with the big kids, she said it was a little to loud with all the talking...ha!
Looks like we are off to a great start!

Going back to school is always so bittersweet. The fun, carefree days are over and the routine and schedules begin. I'm so glad the kids are so well adjusted. They all seem to handle everything extremely well. The pictures are great!
