Pumpkin Picking

Today we decided to take Emma, Abby and Nate pumpkin picking. This is one of my favorite fall traditions, but I have to say that it felt strange today considering the temperature was 77 degrees! My goodness! I have never gone pumpkin picking in a short sleeved shirt and flip flops! Despite the very warm temperature, everything else about the afternoon had the elements of a perfect fall day!
Here comes the tractor to pick us up for our ride to the pumpkin patch...

Nate was particularly interested and excited about the tractor ride...

Searching for the perfect pumpkin...

There were so many good pumpkins that Abby had a tough time choosing. What's a girl to do when she can't decide? Eeny, meeny, miny mo of course!
And she has a winner!
Nate made his selection and then asked if he could eat it!
While Abby had a difficult time choosing, Emma was very decisive. She found her pumpkin and despite the fact it was a little soft and missing it's stem, she insited this was the one she wanted. Emma even gave her pumpkin a name, "Martin" :)

Now if Jake were picking out his
pumpkin when he was a kid it would
have been the biggest one in the
whole pumpkin patch! Good choices
guys! Looks like you had a great
autumn day..even though you had
summer temperatures!
See you soon!

Love
Nana

Totally hysterical that Nate asked to eat it. He must think it's filled with pumpkin pie! What a funny boy!

You should see what "Martin" looks like now!! Soft, mushy and rotting from the inside out, although it still looks presentable from the outside . . . but that's our girl! There's no changing her mind once she has decided what she wants, lol!!
